Jarret Waldman is a third degree black
belt in Krav Maga and the general manager
of Krav Maga Sherman Oaks. He has a full
instructor’s diploma in Krav Maga
from the Ministry of Education in Israel,
and has been training in Krav Maga for
over 25 years and teaching the system for
over 20 years. Jarret prides himself on
helping students reach their self-defense
and fitness goals. For him there is nothing
more fulfilling than seeing the positive
changes in students, both mentally and
physically, after training with him. He
enjoys helping people achieve their fitness
goals, gain confidence and learn street
survival skills.
Jarret began training in Krav Maga in
1982 when he attended the Heschel
Day School in the eighth grade. In 1982, Darren
Levine brought Krav Maga to the United States
by teaching it at the Heschel Day School
as part of the physical education program.
Jarret was one of the first Krav Maga students
in the United States.

When Jarret
was attending Heschel Day School, he would
train five days a week in physical education
class, and also train several nights a
week in the adult classes. Eventually he
worked his way up to teaching classes at
Heshel Day School and at the University
of Judaism for his instructors Darren Levine
and Dan Sovetky.
In the early days of Krav Maga in the
United States, Darren Levine would have
Imi Lichtenfeld, the founder of Krav Maga
come from Israel to train his students
in the San Fernando Valley. Imi would bring
other top instructors with him to help
advance the system in the United States.
Some of the instructors were Eyal Yanilov
the current chief instructor of Krav Maga
in Israel and the head of IKMF, the late
Eli Eviksar, Sheiki Barak, Colonel David
Ben Asher, and many other Israeli military
instructors. Jarret had the good fortune
to train with the founders of the Krav
Maga system at this important time in Krav
Maga history.
In the summer of 1992, after graduating
from Cal State Northridge, Jarret, along
with his good friend David Bluestein, went
to Israel to train with Imi, Eyal, Eli,
Sheiki and other Israeli military instructors.
He was honored to be invited into Imi’s
home where he signed his first black belt
diploma.
Krav Maga Worldwide has been a second family
to Jarret and he is always ready and willing
to share his knowledge with others and
infect them with his excitement for the
system they teach. Besides his regular
students, Jarret also has Krav Maga Worldwide
instructors from all over the world coming
to Los Angeles to train with him. Through
his Krav
Maga technique and fight conditioning videos, which have received extremely high
numbers of views on Youtube, Jarret has
become a bit of an Internet celebrity.
Come in to Krav Maga Worldwide Sherman
Oaks and let Jarret help you change your
life.
